Meet Bethany​

Bethany has eight years’ experience in immigration and refugee law both internationally and domestically. She worked for a number of years at Clothier Anderson Immigration Lawyers, as a decision maker at the UNHCR in Thailand, as an Associate to a Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria and for two years, led a team of lawyers at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. She was the 2022 winner of the Law Council of Australia’s John Gibson Young Australian Migration Lawyer of the Year.

Bethany advises across the migration program with particular expertise in family, humanitarian and refugee visa categories as well as complex character cancellation and immigration detention work.

Bethany’s practice is client-centric and trauma informed. Bethany also serves on the general committee of Liberty Victoria, and is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Refugee Law Reform Committee and the Visa Cancellations Working Group.
